Daniel Swarilov is an Austrian-born artist and maker working across sculpture, functional objects and jewellery. Trained at the Architectural Association and later apprenticed as a goldsmith, his practice is rooted in casting as both technique and event.

He is interested in the passage of time and processes asssociated with it: weathering, decay, entropy and the translocation of matter. Working with geological fragments and plant matter whcih he cast in iron, aluminium, bronze and silver, preserving what would otherwise disappear.

The resulting works sit between ornament, artefact and tool, carrying the texture of place and the trace of their making. They range from edition tables and wall reliefs to vessels, candleholders and jewellery — each piece made in small editions or as unique works.

Raised in Tyrol and working between London, Austria and Menorca, his practice is shaped by a shifting landscape of alpine and coastal conditions.

His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Kesselhaus Innsbruck, and Pulp. In 2026 he presents new work at Alcova, Milan.
